COVID-19 & THE UNCERTAINTY OF OUR TRAVEL

My how things can change in just a single year!  This time last year the idea for this blog was born and work began on what it would look like, what we would share.  We were hopeful, 2019 had been the first year we had been able to take two tropical all inclusive vacations and we were planning on this becoming a normal part of our future.  Not long after coming back from Mexicolast December we planned our next vacation to the Dominican Republic; we were so excited!

We had what I felt like was a strong start to our travel blog; we had plenty all inclusive travel tips to share and we had a number of posts in the first couple of months including our Top 10 Reasons for an All Inclusive Vacation Package, which set the tone for the whole blog.  Not long after coming back from Punta Cana in February of this year everything changed.  That story, the story of Covid-19 we all know all too well.

I have been taking some time off from the blog since about August.  This year has been hard on everyone and we are all dealing in different ways.  We made the choice not to take a vacation this fall and in all honesty will probably have to wait until fall of 2021.  With multiple vaccines on the horizon I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Although I know it’s still going to take some time and even once vaccinated things aren’t going to be business as usual.  The travel community has been shaken to its core.

I keep asking myself what does this blog, a blog about all inclusive vacations look like in 2021?  I don’t have the answer, I don’t think there is a simple answer.  What I do know is that I still have all inclusive tips and tricks to share.  I’m also looking forward to sharing what it’s like when we do go on our first all inclusive trip.

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and a happy new year!  I can’t wait until we are sitting by the pool again!
